We just returned from a 7 day stay at the Ritz Carlton and it was wonderful! Hotel i s beautiful and staff was wonderful. Everyone was very attentative to our needs courteous and pleasant. Beach located down quothillquot was great part of the big picture. My son and I took sick while on vacation and the housekeeping staff took care of us especially my son as if he were their own.We did not eat on the property as it was pricey but not any more than other restaurants of the same caliber in Lahaina or Kannapalli. It was nice to be able to find a lounge chair by the pool. Although we booked a mountain view room we were pleasantly surprised with an ocean view and even better a golf course view upon check-in. The property is located at the far northwest corner of the island but it was not a bad drive to reach the activities we engaged in on other parts of the island. The drive past the hotel around the north end of the island was more exciting than the road to Hana #40was in Maui 18 years ago on honeymoon and Hana was different back then.#41 Gym was great. We enjoyed using the equipment and the spaciousness of the area made it feel relaxing even when it was in full use. The room was beautiful with hardwood floors comfortable beds and a nice lanai. There is a coastal trail along the front of the property that was simply breathtaking to experience. Parking was free and convenient close to hotel entrance. Bell captains were always helpful and friendly. The entire family #40including a 12 yr old and 16 yr old#41 agree that we will stay here again on our next visit

The best location that we have ever visit. Beautiful property and the people at the Ritz are sincerely pleasant. And, the island is great. If, you are a person that enjoy traveling at bargain basement prices than the Ritz is not for you. But, if you want the best. The Ritz Carlton in Kapalua is the place. I reccomend to take an umbrella. There will be early morning and late evening showers. But, even the showers are pleasant and the evening Rainbows are the best in the world. And, sometimes you may see a double rainbow.

Visit on our Anniversary. The Hotel is beautiful and the staff is wonderful. And, the beach is secluded and clean. The food is good and the drinks are strong enough. If you are worried about price and money go somewhere else. But, you want perfection the Ritz Carlton in Maui is the place. Carry an umbrella with you, it will rain in the morning and evening. But, just a shower are two. Plus you will see some of the most beautiful rainbows in the world. Will stay again and again.

At check-in we were automatically upgraded to a ocean view suite from a ocean view 1 king regular. Room is clean and up to date, dining room has tall huge table with 6-8 chairs and sink, gorgeous view of the ocean, 2 balconies, one huge bathroom. Oversees the beautiful pool also, Golf course is next door, but the beach will be quite a walk; place is quiet and staff was phenomenal. I do advice getting a rental car if living here, the hotel is quite remote and it may be a hassle to catch transportation to specific areas around there. I will definitely stay here again if i plan on visiting that part of the island again.

Believe the reviews that you read about this property ... it is beautiful and certainly a step above the "big box" options that you might also consider, but it has some significant flaws, many of which reviewers on this site and others have correctly identified: location/wind and resulting "enclosure" of the property eliminate the wonderful Hawaii outdoor experience; NOTHING is complimentary, even your morning coffee; staff is competant, but not proactive; property is noticeably run down/not well cared for (abandonned tennis courts, trash and landscape debris in the parking lot); restaurants, while adequate had extremely limited menu options for a resort of this stature. I could go on, but just read the other reviews, they are accurate. On this plus side, this resort is well priced for the money, but in the future, we will be staying in Wilea @ the Four Seasons.
